1996 Geo Prizm 4 cyl Automatic

I was driving my 96 Prizm when I noticed the fuel hand almost on empty. The tank should have have atleast 1/2 a tank but I filled up the tank again. So once the tank was full, I began to smell gas. I had a fuel pump put on about 6 yrs ago. I checked under the hood and no gas is getting to the engine. I was wonder if this is the fuel pump again, relay or is it another problem.

If you can smell the gas, your check engine light should be on, it should show a P0455 for evap system leak. If it's on have the codes read, Autozone does it free, Post the results with the code number(s). Even if the service engine light is not on, there should be freeze frame data stored.
If it won't make it to Autozone, buy a cheap scanner, they can be had for 30-40 dollars, a good investment, since they cover all cars sold in the USA from 96 on.

If no fuel gets to the fuel rail, apressure test is useless! Check the fusues and relay for the fuel pump, turn key on and listen for the pump, it should run for 2-3 seconds. If you don't hear it, it's either the pump, or the wiring. That is if your fuses are good! Or your ignition switch, some models activae the injectors when ignition switch is tured on.
