Like any other used car, how it was maintained dictates how reliable it will be. Your best option would be to take it to a shop you trust and have them go over it for any issues prior to purchase. There were issues with some of the engines using oil and sludge build up inside which you would want to know about if they exist. Overall if it has been maintained and is in good shape it could be a good buy.
Not really big on the availability of service information on Kia/Hyundai vehicles, there are many holes but not any worse than some other imports out there.
