Cruise control not working properly and in in fifth gear the CPU display

My car is driving fine but the cruise control no longer works properly and sometimes going up a hill at 60 mph in fifth gear the CPU display will ask for fifth gear and the engine revs will increase until it catches up to itself and then it is fine again.
