I must replace my fuel pump/sending unit due to excess rust. However, my particular B2600i is fuel injected; hence, I have been unable to locate a sending unit that is EFI/EGI capable for an 1989 B2600i, and I have looked everywhere. Is there a work-around for this problem? That is, can I somehow modify a non-EGI/EFI sending unit to solve this issue?

I have personally had the same issue and have soaked mine in a strong decarb solution overnight to clean the varnish off of the sender card. Worked for me and is worth a try.

Actually, due to severe rust issues, I need the entire assembly, not just the sending unit. I found several on Ebay, but I would rather not pay $240.00 for a used assembly.

You may not have a choice, they do not sell the part individually. Maybe you can find a used one cheaper?
