The throttle body on my car is apparently bad and is getting replaced. I’m wondering if the traction control system is affected by the throttle body being bad. That was one of the codes being put out.

Hello, what are all the codes you are getting? It might be the other way around, if there is a problem with the traction control or ABS system, the engine might be putting the vehicle in low power or limp mode due to a fault in another system. This will limit throttle response in most cases to prevent further damage or safety.
Hopefully, they are not just changing parts because of a code. It needs to be diagnosed properly first.

I don’t know the code numbers but was told it was a sensor. They said they cleaned up the throttle body and it was all set. So, I asked him to do an oil change and change the transmission fluid and filter. Didn’t even make it home before the check engine light came on and then limp mode and service traction system came on.

Depending on how they cleaned the throttle body, this might be something they caused. If you did not have any issues until it left the shop, they may have used an improper solvent to clean the throttle plates. Some solvents can cause damage to the motors that move the throttle plates. There are some also where the throttle plates are not supposed to be moved or forced open by hand because of the electronics inside. I do not see any warning like this for your vehicle, but it's possible. I would make them give you a record of the exact codes they found when they scanned the vehicle. You should not have to pay for their mistake. When replacing the throttle body on these the module that controls the throttle body needs to be replaced with it (the TAC). It's not a cheap part. So, don't let them take advantage of you.

Thanks very much! I will make sure of codes and tell them they have to replace the TAC as well!

The TAC is part of the whole throttle body, that whole component circled in green is the TAC. It's an electronic throttle body assembly.
