Can I interchange a fuel pump on a 1993 Chevrolet s10 pickup two wheel drive 4.3 tbi with a 1998 or 1999 GMC Sonoma 4.3 vortec fuel pump?

No, They are designed to run at different pressures and volumes due to the different injector types. TBI runs at 12-14 psi while the Vortec runs at 60+ psi.

Pump may not be generating enough pressure, fuel filter clogged, pressure regulator failed, bad injector.

I would start with a pressure test and verify you have fuel pressure and flow at the injector.

Spray some starting fluid in and see if it will start on that as well. Easy way to check spark, timing and compression.

If the pump is running then you need to check the pressure.

Please run this test and get back to us so we can continue helping you.

Toss a noid light on the injectors and see if they are getting a full voltage signal. If they are actually operating and have pressure they should be spraying fuel.
If you dump some fuel in does the engine fire? The injectors look for a tach signal to start firing so if the wiring or the ICM itself has a problem that could be the reason.
