The car started cutting off while driving. I traced the problem down to the fuel pump. We checked the fuse and the relay in the power distribution center in the trunk compartment. They are good.
I then decided to pull the fuel pump, both sides. The coating on the wires and the clear plastic fuel lines going from one side of the tank to the other had completely disintegrated. I'm surprised the car hadn't caught on fire.
We cleaned the tank.
We installed the new pumps and now when we start the car or turn the ignition on, the pump doesn't prime.
I couldn't find any wire diagrams of the fuel pump, but we tested the wires from the power distribution center and those are fine. We jumped the dark blue/orange wire straight to the positive battery terminal and the pump primes when you turn the ignition over. The car even runs great, but this is not a permanent solution.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hello,

In the diagrams down below I have included the Power-train Management wiring diagrams for your vehicle with the fuel pump circuit highlighted for you. I hope that this helps. Please get back to us with how everything turns out, or if we can help in any other way.

Thanks,
Alex
