The fuel pump isn't coming on. The back tank was removed before I bought it. I have replaced the fuel tank selector switch. Still no power at the pump. Pump will come on if I hot wire it.

Hi,

If you are getting power to the front tank, then either the switch isn't switching power, you have a bad ground, or there is an open or damaged wiring connection.

If you look at the attached pic, it shows the wiring to that tank. Check to see if there is power to the brown and white wire between the switch and the pump. If there is, confirm continuity to ground via the orange wire.

Let me know what you find.

Joe

I only have the front tank now. I replaced the switch and from what you are say it looks like I have a few longs days ahead of me to check the wiring. Because it's George very little power. I had to get my meter back to test and I tested it its not getting 12v.

Hi,

What voltage are you getting? If it is low, chances are either there is a corrosion issue at one of the plugs or an internally partially broken wire (under the insulation).

Let me know what the voltage was. Also, disconnect the battery and check the power wire to that pump between the switch and pump for continuity to see if there is excessive resistance Move the wire around when you do this. Also, confirm the ground is good as well.

Let me know.
