When the fuel tank is full or empty, the light is still on. Check connectors, wiring harness, measured the resistance on the fuel level sensor but they all seem okay. No issues found. I have checked the cluster connector harness, no issues found. From the scan tool everything works fine but there is a permanent code P0463 fuel level sensor 1 high circuit. What is the fix to this issue?

Hi,

The code indicates the level sensor input voltage is above the maximum range. So, that could either be a short to power (12v), high or excessive resistance in the wiring, a faulty fuel module, or a faulty cluster.

The only way to determine the cause is through diagnostics. If you look at the attachments below, I provided the diagnostics specific to this code and this vehicle. Take a look through them and let me know if it is something you feel comfortable doing. Based on what you have already done, I expect you will be fine, but let me know.

Let me know what you find.
