Fuel cap/flap

2006 VAUXHALL VECTRA

New battery in remote control but unlocking does not release flap.
Car manually unlocked by key, still no luck.
I do not really want to prise open with a screwdriver and cause possible damage.

we dont' have those in U.S. try going from inside trunk to open it may be a broken cable.

Thank you for your suggestion.
In the end I called out the AA (Recovery and roadside assistance) and The mechanic worked out it was an electric solenoid that had gone.
The locking pin would not withdraw enough to open the flap, so I am glad I didn't use a screwdriver.
