If it moved that much, either there is a serious rust issue or a ball joint has broken. I attached a picture for you to look at. It shows the components on the front of your vehicle. I need you to located the ball joint in the picture and then check to see if yours has come apart. To locate the ball joint, first identify the lower arm assembly in the picture. Note that one end is wider than the other. Go to the end of the narrow end and you will see the ball joint. There is a line that shows it connects to the steering knuckle (the part the brake rotor mounted to).
If rust isn't a concern, my first suspect is the lower ball joint. Here is a link that shows in general how one is replaced:

Here are the directions for replacing one. It will need to be pressed in and out, so some special tooling is required. However, most parts stores will lend or rent one to you. Starting with picture 2, all remaining pics correlate with these directions.

BALL JOINT AND DUST COVER
1. Using a flat-tipped screwdriver, remove the dust cover from the lower arm ball joint.
2. Remove the snap ring.

3. Using a plastic hammer, tap the ball joint out of the lower arm.

4. Using Special Tool (09545 - 11000), press-fit the ball joint into the lower arm assembly.
5. Install the snap ring.

6. Using the Special Tool (09545 - 21100), install the dust cover.
