Dear friend, I have a Toyota Regius Wagon model 2000 but of recent, the front wheels started overheating yet I drive a short distance to work.I drive 16km to work and spend the whole day parked. These wheels overheat reaching the extent of generating black smoke on the rims. Every 2 days I wash the car due to the black smoke on the front rims. What could be the problem, it is 2months since I replaced the brake pads. The car is a 2WD. What can I do?

Check the caliper pistons for binding. Since problem occurred not long after brake pad replacement, this should be the most probable cause.

Check the slider bolts for binding as well.
