Front drive noise

After using 4-wheel drive a week or so later I've noticed a whining noise up front even when the 4-wheel drive switch is in auto.

Hi,

If it's coming from the front, have you checked the fluid in the differential? There is a fill plug on it. Remove the fill plug. The fluid level should be even with the bottom of the plughole.

Check that first. If it is low, you either should add to it or service it. I attached the directions below for the service.
