2000 Ford Windstar Engine Size unknown Front Wheel Drive Automatic 120000 miles

I have a 2000 windstar lx and 2 problems with lights.(1. While driving all intirior lights either flicker on and off or stay on for about 2-3mins. At a time.
(2. When I start engine w/out turning on headlights the drivers side headlight comes on, and when you turn headlights on then off drivers headlight still stays on and you have to pop hood and unplug light to turn off.
how can I fix this problem w/out spening a lot of money.

I have experienced the same problem numerous times with my 2000 Winstar. At each of the sliding doors there are a series of sliding pins that operate the lights when the doors are opened. Try cleaning the ends of the pins and fixed contacts with alcohol or similar fliud to remove the dirt. Should fix it.
