2001 Ford Truck engaging 4 wheel drive

Replaced a wheel lockout and now can engage manually. Light come on dash when engaging by the dash but it does not engage. Even when switched to Automatic. What could be wrong.

Hi:
Does your truck have the electric shift 4x4? If so, make sure the actuator on the transfer case is getting power. Also, see if you can hear it engaging. Let me know what you find.
