Engine Performance problem
1996 Ford Thunderbird V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

i have a 1996 thunderbird with the 4.5 v8 and when its 15degrees or lower out it wont start and now that its warm out it will. When im stoped or going down the road and put the gas pedal to the floor I have no exceleration and now it seem to bog while driving or at a idle more when the care is warm than cold. The spark plug wires and plugs look great. I disconected the MAF and it ran great for about a mile then started to bog again and idles like crap.

Is the check engine light showing?. Have the vehicle plugged into a diagnostic computer to retrieve any fault codes !

Could you supply the actual fault codes you retrieved from the PCM. I'm guessing you got misfire codes. Could be plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor, fuel injector, crankshaft position sensor?

Replace the MAF sensor .. clear the codes and drive the car .. the maf code (102) will cause the other code at times

Mass Airflow (MAF) Sensor (3.8L)In right side of engine compartment, in air intake assembly.
Mass Airflow (MAF) Sensor (4.6L)In right side of engine compartment, in air intake assembly.

Hope this helps, let me know
