Engine problem
1995 Ford Thunderbird Engine Size unknown Wheel Drive Type unknown Automatic 150000 miles

My check engine light came on and has stayed on. I took it to AutoZone to have them scan it and they couldnt find where to plug the scanner into, saying something about since my car is a 1995 I will just have to take it to a mechanic to have it scanned there. 2 Different employees at Autozone have told me the same thing. My question is, why cant they scan my car and what all could be wrong with it? It is running just fine. Thanks for your help.

The scan connector is located under the dash on the passenger side of the car. Ford also sometimes puts the connecter under the hood, if so I believe that the connector would be on the driver side or the passenger side along the fire
wall.
