I have a belt driven twin screw supercharger. The belt wheel drive to the screws started locking up and spitting out metal pieces. Several publications say the whole supercharger unit needs to be replaced, while others ive seen say the front snout that hold the drive pulley and the coupler and bearings can be removed and rebuilt. Which is it?

Take it off and inspect the screws, and check to see if they have dug into the housing anywhere.
And check to see if they spin freely.
If that all checks out, then just replace the nose cone.
