hi there, for the past 3 days i smelt a burning smell, i ignored it thinkin it was other cars or the air, now i turn on the heat and it will not work. no noise at all and i feel no air coming through vents, so i turned on a/c and still nothing. do u have any idea what this could be? please help. im guessing heater core? but then the fan would still work , right?
thank you

fan dont work?sounds like you burnt out the fan or some wiring or even the temp control switch plug/harness.still,with the car moving and the temp guage about in the middle you should feel some heat in car unless your outside temps are like -0+10 F.if your heater core failed it would leak and you'd smell it.if your radiator was low on anti freeze you would get no heat and your temp gauge would shoot up high!
tempo heater controls are a disaster waiting to happen!very complex and fragile unit!because it's mostly plastic parts.and the fan draws to much current on high and eventually melts the electric connector plug to the control unit!the heat slider switch breaks, the vacuum operated controls fail from loss of vacuum, etc!i ended up on 1 i used to own by replacing fan and just running a house light switch to the fan from the battery to the positive side of plug on fan.you should start by removing fan and testing and replacing if bad and retry it.maybe you will get lucky and you'll have fixed it!with no rewiring/heater control dissasembly!
