1996 Ford taurus, milage 85,000. Engine 3.0 V6.
I drove my car into a puddle and it stalled out. Water got to the inside of the car but it didnt reach the seats just got the floors a little wet. The water didnt go higher than half way past the tires in the front and even less in the back wheels. This only happend yesterday so I tried to turn it on today and it didnt work. Is it the engine that is wet or maybe the ignition? I am very worried since this is my only and first car and I am a student with very little money. Should I try and get it fixed or would it be cheaper to forget aobut it and start the painful task of saving up for another car? :(

It took me a sec to figure out where it was but I did and I opened it and it was soaked! Now what do I do besides changing the filter? Thank you so much!

My next question is. Can there still be water in the engine even if the engine oil dipstik shows no signs of having water and neither does the engine oil filler. And what does it mean if my power sterring fluid is overflowing? And last question what did you mean by air in the cylinder compresses well? Sorry if I ask too many questions.

Is there any hope then? What would a machanic have to do in orfer to fix that problem and how long do u think it will take for them to do it. I guess my question is. Is it fixable and if so is it too expensive to fix? You are a big help!
