2001 Ford Taurus 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

when I put car into gear it isnt engaging and wont move. Fluid is ok and can hear it shifting but sounds like im still in park?

Any check engine light? Some trans issues won't necessarily set the light on. Linkages still hooked up? May have to get it to a locally-owned reliable trans shop, no national chains. Some will perform rudimentary tests for free, good luck hopefully something minor.

I had the same thing happen to me except it just stopped running while I was on the interstate. Had it towed back to my garage, and after we tinkered with it, the linkage came lose, but we tested the Tranny anyways and it didn't pass the test, turns out the gears were completely crushed.

Sounds like same problem I had, take it to a locl shop, or if you still have a warranty on it, tow it to the local Ford dealer, and see if they cant replace it forl ittle to no cost
