Hi, I have my oil change today at Firestone and they suggest to replace my trans and fuel filters. They showed me the trans leak at a side of the pan and gasket underneath the car, and the old fuel filter which they said it looks like never got replaced and should be at every 60,000 miles. They priced $283 included parts, labor and refilled fluids.

just 1 day after the oil change, now the check engine light is on. I checked for the engine oil and trans oil and they are both full when hot. The check engine light has never been on since I got the car. Could the Firestone guys screw s. Thing up?

First thing you need to do is have the codes read, Post the results with the code number(s). Even if the service engine light is not on, there should be freeze frame data stored.
If it won't make it, buy a cheap scanner, they can be had for 30-40 dollars, a good investment, since they cover all cars sold in the USA from 96 on.
If the light is blinking, it means possible damage to the Catalytic converter. Misfires. Service it right away!
After we have the codes, we can determine what may have caused it!

The CEL code is P0340. Is everything in the link correct? How much do you think that costs to be fixed?

I plan to get the parts for the trans filter, fuel filter and the P0340 code. Do you have any recommends for those parts for which should I get? I prefer middle-line parts or higher.

Thank you!

Cam position sensor circuit malfunction is what the code is, the link doesnt work. Depends how involved it gets. Can be a loose connection try plugging the plug on tighter.
