SAME PROBLEM HERE!
I HAVE A 1977 CJ 5
IT HAS A VENT HOSE, WHICH TRAVELS FROM THE TANK. ALL THE WAY UP CLOSE TO THE FILL PORT. THEN "TEES" BACK INTO THE MAIN FILL HOSE
COOL IDEA!
SHOULD WORK!
DON'T.
I INVESTIGATED IT FULLY
NO KINKS
TOOK IT LOOSE FROM THE TANK AND "RODDED" IT (I'M A PLUMBER!)
IT IS CLEAR!
MADE AN OBSERVATION
1976-1978 CJs
JUST AS SOON AS THE FUEL ENTERS IN THE BIG FUEL HOSE
IT MAKES A 90 DEGREE TURN
THAT'S MY PROBLEM!
PROBABLY SAME, FOR ALL OF THE OTHER "PROUD JEEP OWNERS OF THOSE YEARS"!
I CHEAT THE SYSTEM!
I MUST BE CAUTIOUS!
TURN THE SPOUT
UPSIDE DOWN AND FILL!
IT WON'T CUT OFF
CAN'T RUN WIDE OPEN
IT WILL "BACK SPRAY"!
IT WILL "MOST OF THE TIME"
WILL NOT CUT OFF WHEN FULL!
GOTTA STAY ON TOP OF IT!
LET GO
WHEN YOU HEAR IT NEARING THE TOP!
IT IS A BUNCH MORE FASTER THOUGH!
CHECK YOUR "STUFF" (PARTS/SYSTEM) OUT 1ST, AS I DID!
THEN
"USING YOUR OWN CAUTIOUS JUDGEMENT"
DO, WHATCHU GOTTA DO!
REPORT BACK WITH FINDINGS. PLEASE!
I WILL ATTEMPT TO FIND DIAGRAMS OF YOUR STUFF.I SAID TRY. NO, I SAID, "ATTEMPT"!
THE MEDIC
I HAVE 2 JEEPS!
