1998 Ford Taurus can't add fuel

I can't add more than a 1/2 gallon of fuel it backs up in the filler tube.

Check to make sure the line isnt obstructed and also make sure that the vapor line that is attached to the top of the tank isnt damged or kinked and the check valv eis properly working. If not it will cause pressure to build up and fuel to not go in.
