2002 Ford Ranger Engine RPM

After engine is warm, with defroster on, RPM drops about every 3-4 seconds, and sometimes stalls.

The defroster runs the AC compressor to dehumidify the air coming into the car. So it is normal for you to notice when it cycles on and off. However, it shouldn't shut the engine off. Has the check engine light ever come on?

Yes, check engine light came on due to a crack in the pcv hose, I replaced the hose about 2 months ago and the light hasn't come back on. Do you think it might be the pcv valve?
