2002 Ford Ranger

My Rangers lights get brighter for a split second and dim down to normal, I notice the battery light flicker and the battery gage spick for a split second. It only dose this maybe 3 times when I drive it. Hope you cane help. Thanks

IT sounds like the voltage regulator is going bad. In this case, it sounds like it is letting it overcharge for a split second. That is not good. If it was to continue doing that, it could burn things up. What I recommend is having the alt checked. The reagulator is an integral part of the alt. Most parts stores will do it for free.
