i have a 2001 Ford ranger xlt with a 4.0v6 4x4 with automatic transmission. it has a 131,000 miles on it. About 6 months ago I changed the tranny filter and fluid. since then the tranny has shifted hard from first to second gear. Occassionaly the overdrive light will come on and flash. When this happens the truck will shift very hard. If I shut off the truck and restart it the light goes off and it will shift normally. the overdirive light will not come on everytime it shifts hard. I did put new tired on the truck and went one size up, but the truck was already shifting hard prior to this.
