Engine Mechanical problem
1999 Ford Ranger 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

Hi. we have a 1999 Ford Ranger, I think I'm right is saying its a 6 cylinder, by boyfriend isn't hear right now :). It has over 100,000.00 miles on it but not that far over.

The serpentine belt falls off when we go through a puddle. Not all the time but it has happened at least 25 times in the last 6 months. We live in Minnesota so weather is always changing.

The belt has been replaced twice. We changed the tensioner spring and ball bearings. Yet it continues to fall off. The Ford dealerships we have taken it to say "that shouldn't happen".

We have asked if there was originally some type of cover around at one time but they tells us no.

Please help, I'm thinking we may have to make some kind of cover for it ourselves.

Thank you,

Kathy & Bob
