Im buying a 1999 ranger sport and already have a 1997 ford ranger extended cab with both a 4cyiinder can I exchange parts?

Im not sure wat engine the 97 has but the 99 is a 2.5l. If bothe 2.5, definately but the 2.3 intake is different but the blocks are identical. Any other parts, tranny, rear end etc. Will interchange.
