1998 Ford Ranger - Door Adjar light will not turn off

I have a 98 Ford Ranger XLT with 75000 miles. It seems that when it rains or snows, my door adjar light will pop on and will not turn off no matter how many times I slam the door shut. Trust me, the door is not adjar. The biggest problem is that when the door adjar light is on, the intrerior light will not turn off, which means I have to pull the fuse, which also controls the automatic windows. This is a big pain, so if anyone can help me, it would be greatly appreciated.

You need to replace the door latch inside the door on that side to repair the problem.

I had the same problem with my ranger. Spray wd-40 in the latch were the door locks to the body and work it a few times this will solve the problem and only cost you 5 cents worth of oil. I'd recommend using the straw that came with the wd-40 and you may have to hit it twice. Of course if you went to tell ford about this they will say it will short out the latch. WRONG! Its be 2 years and mine still works fine. Besides you have nothing to lose. Right now it doesn’t work.
