1994 Ford Ranger starting

my truck stalled on me while driving. I let it sit for a few hours. When I returned it just would not turn over, and I soon drained the battery. The next day I replaced the altinator, starter and battery, spark plugs and air filter. Nothing. It wants to turn over but just wont. The waterpump gasket also leaks, could that have anything to do with it? Iv'e been driving it like that for awhile. I just keep putting water in and and runs fine.
