1984 Ford Ranger 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

i have a wrecked 1984 ford ranger, it starts and drives. I want to take the trans and the engine out and put it in another 1984 ford ranger, problem is its 2wd, and I dont know how to change out the transfecase. Is it going to work and if so, how hard is it going to be?

First, we only recommend direct fit parts. As far as your situation, the engine is fine. However, the trans is going to be a different story. The tail shaft housing is different, and the transfercase isn't needed if it goes into a 2wd. Honestly, the best thing to do is either use the old trans if it is still good or find one for the truck and use the engine you have. Otherwise, you will be dealing with some issues that will really be a pain.
