I have a 1999 Ford Ranger 4 x4, 4.0 L, P1507 Code, which is the idle air control underspeed. What usually causes this? I was told by one dealer that it most likely is the idle motor. How difficult is this the change out and where can I get one besides the high cost dealer? Thanks[size=18:e3958d7b61][/size:e3958d7b61]

It is easy to replace. It's located on the throttle body. And yes, it will cause idle problems if it is bad. Remove it and check to make sure it isn't clogged. IT has to allow air to the engine to maintain idle speed. Also, the part can just wear out.

Let me know what you find.
