Should I be driving a 2000 ford mustang in the winter(Rochester, NY). Ive been told that ill be sliding and also that the bottom of the car would likely rust

Not if you like the car. How many mustangs do you see in the winter driving? Not many. Those cars are meant for summer. As far as the rust goes, any car that doesnt have a solid undercoating will rust. If you have no other means of transportation, spend some money on snow tires. And stay away from hills. Most important of all, is the wear and tear on your clutch worth it?

I will be buying it used for under 4000 dollars with about 100,000 miles on it. And its going to be my first car, so im not really planning on keeping it for a good portion of my life. Also the person selling it just recently put in a new clutch, so shouldnt that last for me then?
