I have 1998 ford mustang 4.6L 5 speed manual trans. I have a noise coming from transmission, kinda hard to explain noise, but when i put pressure on the clutch pedal it disappears. I am assuming its coming from transmission because of this. Do you have an idea on the problem, if so, is it an easy, to "i'm mechanically inclined" and should attempt this repair, or should i take it to a trans shop? Thank you.

That is usually the throw-out bearing. Sometimes the input shaft can make noise like that, but it less comon than theT.O bearing
