how do i rewire the ignition system

you are better off getting a wireing diagram and using that. Ford's used to burn the harness back from the iginition switch and there used to be a short harness available. if your switch is in the dash, it's been so long i' forgot lol. I do have one though if yours is toast. Just private message me and i can take a pic of it if you are interested......
