Instrument Cluster Self-Test To enter the Instrument Cluster Self-Test Mode on the base instrument cluster, press and hold the instrument cluster trip odometer/reset button and turn the ignition switch to the RUN position until tESt appears in the integrated display. On message center clusters, press and hold the message center RESET button and turn the ignition switch to the RUN position until CLUSTER ENGINEER TEST appears in the message center. Press the trip odometer/reset or RESET button to advance through the displays. To exit the self -test mode, turn the ignition switch to the OFF position. If no DTCs related to the concern are retrieved, GO to SYMPTOM CHART.

Pinpoint Test E: The Speedometer/Odometer Is Inoperative Normal Operation The powertrain control module (PCM) provides the vehicle speed to the instrument cluster over the standard corporate protocol (SCP) communication network. The instrument cluster uses the vehicle speed rolling count status from the PCM to calculate and display the current odometer reading. If the instrument cluster does not receive odometer rolling count status for 2 seconds, dashes are displayed in the odometer display and the anti -lock brake system (ABS) warning lamp illuminates.
