I was driving home and all of a sudden, I didn’t have any power to my gas, but the engine was still on and had a super high-pitched noise, so I turned it off and back on and it did the same thing. So, I got it into neutral and luckily it was super close to a parking lot, when I was pulling in lost power steering and braking was super hard, but I have no power to my gas. Once I got into the parking lot my vehicle started smoking.

Hi,

It sounds like the A/C may have locked up. Good Lord, that would scare the heck out of someone. LOL

So, make sure both the A/C and the Defroster are off and see if the sound is still present.

Let me know. Also, let me know if the smoke you saw was coming from the compressor/belt area.

I attached a pic below showing the belt-driven accessories. When that noise starts, pay attention. Also, while it's running inspect the belt-driven pullies to make sure they are turning. I attached a pic below.

Let me know.
