Transmission problem
2000 Ford Focus 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual
----------------------------------------------------------------
I have experienced minor "spring" noise when I press the clutch, and sometimes (rarely) the stick will remain locked until I repress the clutch.

There is obviously some problem with the piston or slave cylinder there...
It seems like a minor leak, and problem fixed temporarily when I topped off the clutch fluid.

Should I go ahead with this temporary solution (topping-off clutch fluid once so often) or am I looking at a potentially greater damage and/or driving hazard?

Thank you!

Hi there,

sooner or later it will fail and let you down, so i would get it sorted now, rather than be stuck somewhere in the dead of night in the rain....
