2004 Ford Falcon V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

Hi, I Have a BA GT 2004 ford falcon the engine is a 5.4 Litre 290kw. The PCM module stuffed up in my car and ford replaced it with a second hand reco one, but I was told that they use a PCM module out of a Ba Xr8 ford falcon which has only 260kw. Will this make a difference in the power output and also since in was put in went I start it runs rough and seems like its breaking down, when it warms up it seems to get better but every now and then it starts running rough again. Thanking u Jeff.

Hi there,

I would be thinking that they are different, but a check of the part No will confirm this, I would not think a dealer would be fitting the incorrect unit, you better confirm what they did fit against what should be installed, if you can supply some part Nos I should be able to cross check them for you.

Here they are. (A3JA. ABU-251). (EEOFA-3F092). (PCM-122). (S/N. PNGAQL141496). This is the main set of numbers on the PCM, (3R23-12A650-AJA). Thanking u Jeff.

HI there,

I had a word with my ford contact and they informed me that the PCM should end in AJD not AJA but with that in mind this is what they call a rolling suppressions and the unit fitted may not carry the current part No. I feel that this will have to be something that the dealer will have to check and confirm as they will have instant access to the cross matching and part No.
