I have a 1997 F-350 with the E40D transmission and just got done changing the tranny filter. After topping off the fluid I went to start the vehicle to run through the gears before rechecking the fluid but now the truck won't start. Why?

It acts like the batteries dead but I put a tester on both and the both are putting out 12.6 volts. The weird thing is that all the lights are still bright until just after the glow plugs cycle, then they dim just a bit but the multimeter still reads good power.

Do you get a click from the starter? Check with a test light to see if you have power at the starter motor. ****Make sure when you did the trans service that you did not accidentially knock off the wires on the transmission neutral safety switch. Also try moving shifter into neutral to start or also try wiggling shifter and see if that has any affect

I appreciate the help, tried it in neutral and part and wouldn't do anything but after the slight roll when I took my foot off the brake when going from neutral to park changed her mind and got her going. Thanks again.
