I would liike help in changing the crankcase gasket on my truck. It is a 5 speed manual transmission. I had the oil pan gasket replaced at a dealership. Do I need to lift the block to change the crank case gasket.

Sure here are the instructions on how to change the oil pan gasket.

1. Remove oil level dipstick and tube, then fan shroud attaching bolts and position shroud over fan.
2. On 1988-93 models, remove upper intake manifold.
3. On all models, remove engine mounts to chassis bracket retaining nuts.
4. On models equipped with automatic transmission, disconnect oil cooler line from left side of radiator.
5. On all models, raise engine and place wooden blocks between engine mounts and chassis brackets.
6. On 1988-93 models, remove exhaust system.
7. On all models, drain oil pan, then remove oil pan attaching bolts and lower oil pan onto crossmember. Support transmission with suitable jackstand and remove crossmember if necessary to facilitate oil pan removal.
8. Remove pickup tube attaching bolts, then lower pickup tube into oil pan and remove oil pan.
9. Reverse procedure to install. Tighten oil pan bolts to specifications.
