I have a problem with the gauges in my truck. The gauges bounce around when I start vehical and I is sluggish to start. Has new starter and battery and new cables. When I turn on ignition sometimes the gauges dont bounce and it starts with no sluggishness.

You may have 2 separate problems or one may be a symptom of the other.

Intermittant problems can be challenging so have patience on this. Wiring can be an issue on intermittants.

I need to clarify what sluggish means to you.

I am interpreting this as a slow or hard crank where the engine turns over slowly or is turning over hard.

This also effects my radio and interior cab lights. Look to have my instrument cluster repaired (re-soldered)

Hi Phil.

This is a very old post so it is more than likely they will not respond but we will see what we can do to help out with this.

I suspect you are saying this is a cluster issue and you need to get it re-soldered. This very well could be the issue as that is a typical failure.

However, to verify this we need to check the power going into the cluster and the ground to make sure this is not a battery issue or a ground issue.

Basically, if you have power and ground then the issue is on the circuit board of the cluster.

So, then we need to check the battery voltage if the voltage is low because that will cause the gauges to blink as well.

The wiring diagram is below so please let me know what questions you have. Thanks
