1997 Ford F-250 electrical

Have 7.3 lt diesal that does not always start, I can jump the starter soleniod to start the vehical, also the vehical sometimes does not shift out of 2nd gear properly or shifts into low gear for short periods also it will shift out of overdrive automatically/byitself.
