Hey birdshot. The problem is the same im having. Ford makes junk. The sound is the clutch pack grabbing in your rear end. What happens is you have a limited slip rear end in your truck, probably a 3.55 limited slip. When you turn a corner the limited slip kicks in due to the angle of the truck. It is trying to make one wheel catch up to the other essentially. The clutch packs are either shot or wearing out or your fluid is broken down. How good are you with mechanical things? It is an easy fix as long as you catch it in time. You can do it yourself for under $75 or take it to a dealer. Get it fixed asap, you can destroy the rear which can cost up to 5k to fix(depends on who does it). It you want more details, email me, ill give you a hand. I did mine, it only has 68k. I changed the fluid, it was ok for about 2k miles. Now it vibrates on low speed turns and take offs. I added friction modifier and it seems to be ok but only time will tell. Kayzack519@verizon.
