When I am merging into traffic my truck won't get up and go w/o hesitation or delay or motor winding out. Ex; merging at 50mph and flooring it but it won't accelerate and then it will hesitate before the RPM's will go up up 6000 & then engine rpm's will go down to 2000rpm's & truck will accelerate very slowly.

The transmission is not slipping. Seems like nothing happens power wise when I want it to accelerate. Think me replacing my transmission filter may help?

Most likely it won't, but it doesn't hurt to try. What I don't understand is you said it revs up to 6K then jerks and slowly accellerated. It sounds like the trans is in neurtal and then put in gear.
