2000 Ford F-150 leaking radiator fluid from block(head gaske

My Ford is leaking radiator fluid enough to need refilling the tank every couple of days(6 miles a day). It started on monday. It is definately not from a hose but off of the top right hand side of the block, appearing to be near the front head.
What do you think?
I had one mechanic tell me that you have to pull the entire engine to change the heads on this small 6 cyllinder(manual). Does that sound right? 18 hours labor seems like an awful lot for a head job. Thank you for your input.

Is it the V-6? If so use a radiator pressure tester, see if the leak is the intake manifold gasket. Or do a block test, about 50.00, this will tell you if there are exhaust fumes in the antifreeze. In that case probably the head or head gasket!

Did you read my post? I said the intake or head. Not radiator, I said radiator pressure tester!
This is used on a cold engine to pressureize the cooling system, Thus making it easy to find a leak.
