I noticed a noise last night in my power steering. I stopped to check and seen the fluid just pouring out. I put more in and seen that it was coming from a little box that is located under the engine near the axle. The box has a big nut or bolt on the bottom of it? I would like to know what the name of the price is thats leaking and any suggestions of what can be done to stop the leak? Thank you

Hi berga1234,

Thank you for the donation.

You must be referring to the sterring gear assy. The big nut that you referred to, is it holding an arm that is linked to the steering linkages to the wheels?

If yes, the to rectify the leakage, the steering gear assy has to be rebuilt or replaced.

Yes, that is the steering gear assy and the item that causes the leakage at the lower part is the oil seal.

The labor time for removal and overhauling it is 2.7 hour as yours is a 2WD.

Item #4 is the part that is leaking, it is known as the sector shaft kit.
