A mechanic friend scanned the trouble codes on my truck. The scanner said the runner control on bank #1 was stuck. The truck runs rough and the check engine light is on. Do I have to pull the manifold to repair this
or is there some thing I can do with it together?
Thanks

Hello,

In order the service the runner control module, you will have to remove the upper intake manifold.

The Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC) system consists of two runners that flows air into each cylinder. The air gets metered by the throttle body. With a butterfly valve plate one passage is always open and other is open or close..

The IMRC system has an actuator. The IMRC is a vacuum actuator type system.

I have attached diagrams for your reference.

Please let me know of any questions.

Thank you.
