BLEEDING COOLING SYSTEM

Always bleed air from cooling system after replacing coolant. Set heater for maximum heat. Remove radiator cap. Loosen drain plug and remove drain bolt (if equipped) from engine block. Drain coolant reservoir. Fill coolant reservoir to MAX mark with 50/50 water-coolant mixture. Loosen bleed bolt and fill radiator up to base of filler neck. Close bleed bolt when coolant flows out without bubbles. Tighten bleed bolt. With radiator cap removed, start and operate engine to normal operating temperature. Add coolant if necessary and check for leaks

Thanks for you help. This all started sun the truck was running fine the all at one time the temp spiked the oil light came on and lost power. I replaced the thermostat, filled the antifreeze 50/50. Ran fine got in it today drove 5 or 6 miles ran hot. I think it had a air pocket after talking to mech. Tried the folowing to remove air there is no bleeder on this engine so I removed thesensor on the intake allowed colliant to come to top of port then replaced. Drove and ran engine about 30 mins hope this has solved problem. But with my luck it will do it again. I dont think I even qualify as a shade tree mech. Just like to try to solve problems myself before taking a had hit in the pocket.
